Age Surfer’s Symphony

The contemporary dance piece “Age Surfer’s Symphony” was produced by the Austrian tanz.coop collective and Gisela Elisa Heredia (idea, concept, choreography). Premiere was at the KosmosTheater in Vienna in 2018. Sophie MacGregor, Sarah Merler, Yusimi Moya Rodriguez, Martina Varga and Christina Zauner were the dancers.

A mixed ensemble from young to elder dancers deals with the issue of the connection between people of different ages and focuses on what separates us one from another. What are the resources this gap of ages can provide, and how can separated groups work together powerfully? Choreographer Gisela Elisa Heredia and the dancers of the piece dedicated themselves to the dynamic interplay of different generations and thus to a topic that is becoming increasingly important in times of demographic change.
