Cuba linda

Yusimi Moya Rodriguez participated at the Viennese dance competition “Wien Welt Wettbewerb” in the contemporary dance category in 2014. She danced a solo piece called “Cuba linda” by Cuban choreographer Osnel Delgado, which she knows from her time working in Havana for the contemporary dance company Ebony. Osnel Delgado today is the artistic director and resident choreographer of the famous Cuban Malpaso dance company and professor of dance studies on the arts university in Havana.

The dance piece "Cuba linda" tells the story of Cuban dance, combining elements of different contexts, folkloric and popular styles, Modern and ballet, all together form the typical blend of Cuban Contemporary. It is an inspiration for all the people yearning for the spirit of dancing and gives a deep insight into the Cuban soul. It was developed by Cuban master dancer and choreographer Osnel Delgado. The musical title "Cuba linda" is from the album "Esta soy yo" by singer Jenny B and Enrico Melozzi released in 2011 on Cinik records in Italy. You can find the music on this website.
